Lightel Supports SN Connectors with New Tips and Guide
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
RENTON, Wash., December 18, 2019 -- Lightel Supports SN Connectors with New Tips and Guide
The Senko SN® connector is a duplex fiber optic connector developed for 400G optimization for data center applications. The connector has two 1.25mm LC-style ceramic ferrules stacked vertically in a single housing with a pitch of 3.1mm apart (versus a 6.25mm pitch for traditional duplex LC connectors) resulting in increased density. The design of the connector allows users to have four individual connectors (eight fibers total) within a single QSFP-DD, transceiver interface.
Lightel has developed a tip guide and companion tip set to support the SN® connector. Designed to be used in concert with Lightel's connector inspector product line, the tips are available in short or extended versions. The short tip is used during installs when adjacent fiber cables have not been inserted into the coupler housing. Multiple guides can also be used simultaneously to greatly expedite installation connector inspection. The extended tip and guide do not interfere with adjacent fibers and connectors and are ideal for maintenance scenarios. Lightel's SN® tips and guides are available individually or as kits with guide included.
SN® is a registered trademark of Senko Advanced Components.
