Inspecting MTP Connectors Just Got a Whole Lot Easier

RENTON, Wash., August 12, 2014 -- Lightel® announced today the introduction of its ArrayView™ AV-4800, an automated inspection system for MTP and MPO connectors.
Designed with speed and ease-of-use in mind, the ArrayView allows technicians to insert any MTP connector into the unit and create a high resolution scan of the entire connector endface with the click of a button. This scan is displayed on the computer in less than 15 seconds, allowing techs to quickly identify any dirty or damaged fiber endfaces. If contamination is an issue, the connector can be cleaned in place and quickly re-scanned.
"Quick fault-finding is an important issue in data centers today. With the ArrayView, we've made it extremely easy to identify problems with MTP connectors and either move forward with a fix or document recurring issues for vendors," said Kevin Shirk, Vice President of Sales for Lightel.
The included software follows this principle of simplicity with only two screens required to operate the entire system. This simplicity also provides for very light hardware requirements, resulting in software that can be loaded onto just about any standard Windows®-based computer.
